Man, being a gamer in the 80s and 90s was tough. There was no such thing as ‘geek culture’… and ‘geek chic’ was an oxymoron. You were lucky if you won a Nintendo t-shirt in a magazine competition and the only way to get a Sonic backpack was to decorate it yourself. Now that video games are well and truly in the mainstream consciousness, you can stumble in to pretty much any clothes shop and buy a Minecraft or Mario Kart t-shirt. But why settle for what everyone else has?
We’re getting together with Casually Hardcore Clothing to give away gift vouchers to three lucky winners. Casually Hardcore make exclusive threads and prints for fashion-minded gamers, and you won’t find them anywhere else. Not only do Casually Hardcore sell t-shirts, hoodies and prints for people of all gaming corners, they’ve got officially licensed gear for the awesome cult movie trilogy Back to the Future, sure to get any fan excited. I mean, who wouldn’t want a Flux Capacitor logo to show that you’ve got all the time in the world. Just remember, you’ve only got around 150 days until you finally get your hover board according to the films!

All you have to do is leave a comment answering the following question:
What’s your fondest video gaming memory?
It can be anything from the time you finally got the high score at your local arcade, to that epic LAN party or even that first date that turned into a Smash Bros tournament.
I’ll start you off with my story:
Early 2003, I was one of the many lucky souls to get access to the beta for PlanetSide, the massively multiplayer FPS from Sony Online Entertainment, along with a dozen members of the gaming forum I was part of (incidentally, you can check out the sequel, PlanetSide 2, right now). One of our group was trained in the US Army Reserves as a tank operator. We were quickly trained up in tank warfare, and the crowning achievement was moving as an armoured column, with three tanks, support vehicles and close air support, while we moved resource trucks to power our bases. It was easily the most epic scene I ever witnessed in a game, and showed that video games bring together people with fun, camaraderie and teamwork! We even ended up doing illicit black market trade deals with rival factions, exchanging tanks and other vehicles with each other!
Of course, there are so many more stories to tell involving all sorts of games and people, but I’m sure you have some too! You don’t have to give us your gaming history, just a memory that stayed with you. Good luck!
